10 Lessons + Takeaways from 2018

Happy New Year!

As I begin to feel into the energies of 2019 and lay out my intentions and goals, I’m also still processing my main lessons and takeaways from 2018, which was quite a year to say the least. My yoga teacher training instructor recently suggested that in order to move into 2019, you should “list your top 10 takeaways and learnings you got from 2018.” I got out my journal, tuned into my heart, and came up with the list below.

My 10 takeaways and lessons:

  1. I can trust that my body is giving me the answers I seek.

  2. A walk in the fresh air or 10-15 minutes of yoga can drastically improve my mood.

  3. Creating and setting boundaries is something I need to work on.

  4. Experiencing pleasure and cultivating my sexual self is a valuable and necessary way of healing.

  5. As much as I crave solitude, connection and community are SO important to me.

  6. People (generally) have widely varying views on what makes for an equitable society / how

    equity and equality should be defined.

  7. I want to focus on increasing / expanding my attention span - the less social media / internet time, the better I feel.

  8. Discovering and living into my truest and fullest expression of my sexuality is an ongoing process.

  9. My inner critic can be extraordinarily strong. It’s important to just be aware of it.

  10. I can always come back to the breath.
